The Mentor’s Foundation
Cultivating a Healthy Life Matrix
Introduction To The Mentor’s FoundationThe Mentor’s Foundation was born out of a heart to give men and women in a modern-postmodern world a sure foundation for living life. We understand modern theories of life and existence as it relates to epistemology, science, technology, and many other aspects of a modern-postmodern world. But the Mentor’s Foundation unashamedly believes that the writer of the book of Hebrews in the Bible got it right in Hebrews 13:8 when he said:
“Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday, today and forever.”
The person and work of Jesus Christ as the Son of God in body, soul, and spirit is rooted in the nature of true truth for every generation. Truth is “that which endures throughout time as an unchanging reality.” The words of Jesus and his apostles have an enduring reality to them that root and ground people in a life of wholesome peace within themselves and in the world around them. The Bible has been used by men who do not live out its character developing truths so they could use their association with the Bible for personal, social, political, and financial gains. The Bible speaks of a true Christianity which overcomes “hypocrisy” as people grow in the teachings of the Bible. This assumes that we all have hypocritical natures to some extent that need change. But hypocrites will often hide behind the Bible and forms of Churchianity with a fake Christianity that has nothing to do with the life relationship to God presented in the Bible which comes from the living Lord and God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Mentor’s Foundation is committed to the foundation who said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me.” [John 14:6]. Only those who are willing to go beyond a mere introduction to facts about Jesus Christ, can ever know all that He has available to them through an on-going personal relationship.Introduction to Jesus ChristJesus Christ came into the world to bring you and me into a personal relationship with His Heavenly “Dad.” By making the person and work of Jesus Christ the object of your faith, you will have an ability to deal with the brokenness in your life stemming from bad choices you have made over the years or the damage done to you by bad choices stemming from others. Errors, mistakes, unhealthy choices, and other words that describe how we “miss the mark” of perfection are forgiven by God as we place our faith and trust in the Son of God’s death on the cross for our “missing the mark” sins [Gk., harmartia]. God begins this relationship with Himself the same way any relationship begins between two people. There is a “Spirit to spirit” identity which persons make that draws them closer and closer together as each person comes to know the other in a deeper way. But because God is God and knows everything about us, it is we that must begin our journey of faith toward a deepening relationship with God. In order for this relationship to exist we must realize that the moment we place our faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ, at that moment we are “baptized” or “immersed” in God’s Spirit. He has all of us and we now spend the rest of our lives growing in what it means to know Him as we are known by Him. Being baptized into Jesus Christ’s Spirit is what it means to be “born again.” We begin a new life of total identity with Jesus Christ as God places His Spirit into our hearts and we cry out from the heart like a new born baby, “Daddy!”Welcome to My Life in Jesus ChristAs we begin with the knowledge that our sins are forgiven in the person and work of Jesus Christ, we now know that we have an open access to a growing relationship with a pure and perfect God who will not hold our sins against us if we confess our sins and allow His in-born Holy Spirit to cleanse us from the inside out. First of all our “missing the mark” sins that cause us to struggle with personal guilt for bad choices are forgiven. Then by God’s indwelling Spirit we are filled with a love that allows us to forgive and forget wrongs done to us that have caused us to harbor bitterness toward others who have hurt us deeply. Wounded and blind to God’s love for us in Christ and being without His Spirit in our hearts, we did not know how to respond with anything but anger, hatred, fear, bitterness or other negative ways of coping with personal pains we bring on self or that others bring upon us.Being introduced to Jesus Christ, placing our faith in Him and receiving His Spirit into our hearts is the beginning of a lifelong journey in becoming an adopted son of the Most High God who created us. First God gives us a physical birth into a corrupted “missing the mark” world. Secondly as we place our faith in His Son and receive His Spirit into our hearts, we are renewed and regenerated from our corruptions over time as our relationship with our Creator God and Heavenly Dad grows deeper and deeper.Welcome to a new life that is both free to believe in, free to receive, and that frees us from the miseries of life as we learn to live out into the real world what God puts into our hearts from His perspective.Welcome to my life and your life in the forgiveness of sin in Jesus’ name.
